Mission Columbia

January 6-23 2012

Imagine if you will, two Canadian churches, from different parts of Canada, coming together in unity and purpose, studying, training and preparing over an eight month period, to serve the people of Medellin Colombia.  Further, we will be joining with Colombian missionaries who have identified the greatest need and outreach potential right now is to provide English as a Second Language (ESL).

What a tremendous God opportunity to provide high quality ESL training AND be the love of Christ.  As mentioned by Diego Cardonna, missionary in Colombia, “When you serve with excellence, the fragrance of the Gospel is a curiosity to those who do not yet believe”.  Our prayer is that ‘many’ will be curious for the gospel and God opportunities will be possible in our interaction and conversations.

Additionally, we are building bridges into the community where a new church plant has been established and connecting the local church to individuals for follow up.  Praise God for all He is doing!

All of this is possible with the partnership of others who will join with us in this mission’s trip.  We desire to build a team who will faithfully pray for us.  Our time in Colombia will have an intense schedule, potential changes (big and small) where we need to be flexible, health and safety and, of course, our ability to teach the ESL materials with excellence.  Not a small task by any means but one that can be accomplished with preparation and prayer.  Please let me know if you’d like to commit to being part of our prayer team.
